There are plenty of places in New York to get in the holiday spirit that don't involve getting shoved by tourists (ahem, the Rockefeller Center tree and the lights show at Saks). Our favorite interpretation of the phrase is quite literal—actually downing our favorite spirits at festive bars across the city far away from anyone who might say, “Let’s go to FAO Schwarz!” So, grab some friends and start celebrating the most wonderful time of the year accordingly.
